Job description

Job Purpose :

To design, deliver, and facilitate high-quality online and distance learning experiences that foster academic excellence and learner engagement. The faculty member is responsible for creating learner-centric instructional content, conducting live and asynchronous sessions, assessing student performance, and providing timely academic guidance and mentorship. The role aims to ensure that teaching, evaluation, and learner support processes align with institutional standards, regulatory guidelines (UGC-DEB/AICTE), and the Centre’s objectives of accessible, flexible, and outcome-based education.

Key Responsibilities :

Teaching & Learning Delivery

  • Deliver engaging online and distance learning sessions through lectures, tutorials, seminars, and practicals, using diverse digital pedagogies and technology-enabled teaching tools.

  • Facilitate learner engagement through interactive discussions, case studies, and problem-based learning aligned with program outcomes.

Curriculum Design & Content Development

  • Develop and update course materials including syllabi, session PPTs, pre-reads, reading materials, assignments, reference articles, and case studies.

  • Create digital learning content such as notes, summaries, term papers, and question banks in line with the curriculum and instructional design guidelines.

Assessment & Evaluation

  • Design and administer fair, transparent, and outcome-based assessments through quizzes, projects, assignments, and examinations.

  • Evaluate learner performance, provide constructive feedback, and ensure timely submission of grades and results as per university norms.

Research & Scholarly Contribution

  • Undertake research and scholarly activities in the relevant domain; publish in peer-reviewed journals and contribute to academic advancement.

  • Integrate research insights into teaching to enrich student learning experiences.

Student Mentoring & Support

  • Provide academic guidance, counselling, and mentorship to students, supporting their learning, career aspirations, and personal development.

  • Maintain accessibility through regular virtual office hours, discussion forums, and prompt communication via the Learning Management System (LMS).

Collaboration & Institutional Contribution

  • Collaborate with colleagues, program heads, and administrative teams in curriculum revision, program review, accreditation, and quality assurance activities.

  • Participate actively in academic meetings, committees, and institutional initiatives contributing to continuous improvement.

Quality & Compliance

  • Adhere to quality benchmarks prescribed by statutory and regulatory bodies (UGC-DEB, AICTE, NAAC, etc.).

  • Ensure timely completion of academic and administrative deliverables as per University norms.

Administrative & Co-curricular Responsibilities

  • Participate in administrative, co-curricular, and extra-curricular activities assigned by the Dean/Director/Pro-Vice Chancellor/Vice Chancellor.
  • Ensure adherence to the University’s Acts, Statutes, Ordinances, Rules, and Regulations, upholding its vision, mission, and values.

Professional Development

  • Engage in continuous professional development by attending workshops, webinars, and conferences relevant to distance and online pedagogy.
  • Maintain active membership in professional and academic bodies to stay abreast of developments in the field.

  • Demonstrated ability to engage learners effectively using technology-enabled and interactive pedagogical
  • Strong conceptual clarity, subject-matter expertise, and ability to simplify complex topics for diverse learner
  • Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—with proficiency in academic writing and
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with peers, academic leaders, and administrative teams in a multi- functional setup.
  • Continuous learner with openness to adopt innovative instructional practices and digital teaching tools (e.g., LMS, MOOCs, virtual classrooms, discussion forums).
  • Strong mentoring and advisory skills with the ability to guide students academically and
  • Commitment to institutional values, academic integrity, and quality standards prescribed by regulatory bodies (UGC- DEB/AICTE/NAAC/CIQA).
Requirements- Education & work experience :
  • Preferred to have a Doctoral Degree Ph.D or Pursuing Ph.D. and/or Master’s Degree in relevant discipline. (Information Technology/ Marketing/ Digital Marketing / Business Strategy/ Operations & Supply chain/ Behavioral Sciences & Communication/ HRM/ Business Analytics/ Finance & Accounting / Business Statistics / Economics / Legal)
  • 5–10 years of proven experience in Teaching, Research, or as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with significant exposure to training or academic delivery.
  • Experience in Distance, Online, or Virtual Education shall be an added
  • Evidence of research publications, curriculum design, content development, or academic contribution in the relevant discipline preferred.
  • Prior industry or consulting experience (for applied subjects) will be considered
