What is the eligibility criteria to apply for a NMIMS Global Program?

The eligibility criteria for each program are mentioned below. For a detailed understanding of the criteria and policies, visit the individual program pages.

Programs in Open & Distance Mode

MBA (Distance) Programs:

Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) in any discipline from any recognised University or an equivalent degree recognised by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) with minimum 50% marks at Graduation Level.

Executive MBA: (Master of Business Administration (Executive MBA), i.e MBA (WX) and MBA (X) in Business Analytics)

Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) in any discipline from a recognised university with a minimum of 55% and 3+ years of work experience.

OR

Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) in any discipline from recognised universities with a minimum of 55% and Post-Graduation / Professional Degree from recognised universities with a minimum of 55% and 2+ years of Work Experience.

Diploma Programs:

Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) in any discipline from a recognized University or an equivalent degree recognized by AIU

OR

H.S.C plus 2 years of work experience

OR

S.S.C plus 3 years of Diploma recognized by AICTE and 2 years of work experience

MSc in Applied Finance:

Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) in any discipline from any recognised University or an equivalent degree recognised by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) with minimum 50% marks at the Graduation Level

Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) in any discipline from any recognised University or equivalent degree recognised by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) with less than 50% marks at the Graduation level and a minimum of 2 years of work experience.

How do I register/ pay program fee for the NMIMS Global programs?

For programs including MBA (Distance), MSc in Applied Finance, Diplomas, Professional programs, Bachelor Programs and Certificate Programs, the candidate has the option to pay the full program fee, annual fee, or semester/term-wise fee.

For the Master of Business Administration (Executive MBA) and MBA (Working Executive) programs, a candidate has to pay the complete fee before the start of the program.

What is a NMIMS Regional Office and NMAT / NPAT Center?

To ensure effective support, NMIMS University has set up Regional Offices across different locations in India. These offices act as the local point of contact for students within that area. When can I enroll for a NMIMS Global Access for Continuing Education (NGA-SCE / NMIMS Global) program?

Where do I submit my Admission documents?

You will have to scan, self-attest and submit the applicable scanned documents at the registration link: https://ngasce.secure.force.com/nmLogin_New?type=registration

What are the admission documents that I will need to submit?

Documents required to be submitted by any candidate are as mentioned below:

  1. Recent Photograph
  2. Photo ID proof
  3. Mark sheet/Certificates
  4. Work Experience documents (if applicable)
  5. Defence Documents (If applicable)
  6. AIU Certificate (if applicable)

Kindly make a note that Educational documents submission completely depends on the Eligibility criteria opted by the candidate. The candidate will have to provide the documents as called by University to complete the document verification process.

What is Provisional Admission?

Provisional admission is granted to a candidate (eligible for a program) who has not submitted any of the following documents: Final /Convocation Degree Marksheet/Certificate.

When is the admission confirmed?

Admission is confirmed once the Eligibility documents are verified, the Email/ Mobile number is verified, and complete payment is received by the University.

What are the payment modes available?

You will have to pay the applicable program and registrations fee online through the registration link: https://ngasce.secure.force.com/nmLogin_New?type=registration

Is there a change in the Program fees ?

The amount to be paid by the student will depend on the selection of Lecture pattern – Recorded Sessions only, Combination of Live + Recorded Session or all Live sessions.

How is the total fee for a program calculated?

The program fee is calculated basis of the program being enrolled for, available payment pattern i.e. Full Fee/ Annual Fee/ Semester (whichever is applicable) and the selection of lecture pattern – recorded sessions only or a combination of live interactive + recorded sessions or all live interactive sessions (wherever applicable).

In case a candidate wants to opt for live interactive lectures (whichever program is applicable), the total fee will be calculated as follows:

  • If a student has opted for the live lectures:

Total fee = Semester fee + Fee paid towards the live interactive lecture subjects

 

  • If a student has not opted for live interactive lectures (Recordings only)

Total fee = Semester fee

How is the down payment amount calculated when a candidate applies for loan?

The down payment is calculated on the total program fee applicable to be paid by the candidate.

For E.g. Student opts for Full Fee Recorded sessions i.e. 1,44,000/- in this case minimum down payment of 10% of 1,44,000/- will be applicable i.e. 14,400/- and the balance of 90% can be pushed for Loan.

Can a candidate apply for a loan after payment towards program?

A candidate can apply for a loan, only before payment of applicable program fee.

Can a candidate apply for a loan for live lectures after payment towards program?

Once the semester fee is paid, a candidate cannot apply for a loan facility. The payment towards the live interactive lectures component will have to be paid directly by the candidate.

Can the Live interactive lectures subscription be cancelled?

A student cannot cancel the Live interactive lectures subscription.

Can I pursue more than one program simultaneously from NMIMS Global Access School for Continuing Education?

A student of NMIMS global cannot pursue two degree programs simultaneously with NMIMS Global Access School for Continuing Education. However, if you have enrolled for a Masters/ Diploma/ Certificate/ Bachelor/ Professional Diploma program, you can only take up another Diploma / Certificate/ Professional Diploma alongside.

What is Re-registration?

A student must re-register for the subsequent semester to activate access to the subsequent semester. This is a compulsory process and is applicable to each semester. This process is also mandatory for a student who has paid the annual or full fees.

Only after the re-registration process is completed will you be able to access the program material and lectures of that semester. This will also enable you to register and appear for the examination of that semester.

This is applicable only for MBA (Distance), MSc in Applied Finance, Diplomas, Professional programs, Bachelor Programs and Certificate Programs

For the MBA (WX) & MBA (X) programs, the following is applicable: Students enrolled in MBA (WX) & MBA (X) do not have to re-register. They will automatically progress into the next term once they clear the previous term.

How do I Re-register?

You can re-register from your Student Portal > Re-registration tab, the same is also available under Student Portal > Quick Links > Re-Registration

Can I re-register even if I have not cleared a particular Semester?

Yes, you can re-register for the subsequent semester even if you haven’t cleared the subjects of the current semester.

Can I/ How can I – change my choice of Program/ Specialisation?

Yes, you can change your Program (based on eligibility)/ Specialisation within the same program group at the time of re-registration (charges as applicable).

Will I be issued a new Identity card (ID) card after change of Program?

Once your program is changed, you will be issued a new Identity card with the updated Program name along with the applicable study material. The Student Number will remain the same.

Will I be issued a new Identity card (ID) card after change of specialisation?

Once your specialisation is changed, you will be issued a new Identity card with the updated specialisation name along with the study material (if applicable). The Student Number will remain the same.

When can a diploma program student apply for a Program change?

A student enrolled for a Diploma program can apply for a program change at the time of Re-Registration to Semester 2 (Charges as applicable).

When can I apply for a Specialisation change for the MBA (Distance) program?

In the case of MBA (Distance), you can apply for a specialisation change at the time of re-registration to Semester 2 and/or Semester 3 (charges as applicable).

If I have enrolled/ completed the Post Graduate Diploma from NMIMS Global Access, am I eligible to enrol for MBA (Distance) Program?

You will not be eligible for lateral admission from a Post Graduate Diploma Program (From NGA-SCE) to MBA (Distance).

However, you can apply for fresh admission into the MBA (Distance) program.

I have completed my Diploma in Business Management or Certificate in Business Management from NMIMS Global. Am I eligible to enrol for MBA (Distance) Program?

Yes, you are eligible to do so via the lateral admission process.

I have completed my Diploma from NMIMS Global. Am I eligible to enrol for MBA (Distance) Program?

Yes, you are eligible to do so via the lateral admission process, the following conditions apply:

  • A student enrolled in the Diploma program at NMIMS Global (From July 2014 to Jan 2019) can apply for lateral admission into the MBA (Distance) program in Semester 2 (with additional subjects)
  • Diploma in Business Management (July 2019 onwards) student can apply for lateral admission into MBA (Distance) in Semester 3
  • Diploma student [(other than a student of Diploma in Business Management (July 2019 onwards)] can apply for lateral admission into MBA (Distance) in Semester 2

*Note – Program fee of MBA (Distance) will be applicable.

I have completed my Certificate from NMIMS Global. Am I eligible to enrol for MBA (Distance) Program?

Only students who have enrolled/ completed a Certificate in Business Management (CBM) from NMIMS Global (July 2019 onwards) can get a lateral entry into Semester 2 of MBA (Distance). Note: Program fee of MBA (Distance) will be applicable.

Will I be issued a new ID card if I apply for a lateral admission?

Yes, in case you are admitted into a program through the lateral admission process, you will be issued a new ID card with a new Student number.

Will a student be eligible for a fee waiver in-case of lateral admission?

A fee waiver is not applicable in cases of lateral admission into a program.

Course Waiver is applicable to which students?

Student who has completed Diploma and wants to enroll for MBA (Distance) within the same specialization or different specialization (Conditions Apply)

Student who has completed Certificate in Business Management and wants to enrol for Diploma / MBA (Distance) program (Conditions Apply)

Note :- Application for course waiver should be received within 2 years of successful completion of an earlier program. Course waiver is not applicable for Project (Semester IV) for MBA (Distance) students

Is a Course waiver applicable for a lateral admission?

Yes, a course waiver is applicable under the following conditions:

  1. Any student who has completed a Diploma (From NMIMS Global) and wants to enrol for an MBA (Distance) within the same specialisation or different specialisation (Conditions apply)
  2. A Student who has completed a Certificate in Business Management and wants to enrol for Diploma / MBA (Distance) program (Conditions Apply)

Note: Application for course waiver should be received by the University within 2 years of successfully completing the earlier program. Course waiver is not applicable for Project (Semester IV) for MBA (Distance) students.

Student has completed Diploma program and wants to apply for a lateral admission in MBA (Distance) program?

Students enrolled in Diploma Program (From July 2014 to Jan 2019) can apply for Lateral Admission into MBA(D) in Sem 2 (with additional subjects)
Diploma in Business Management (July 2019 onwards) can apply for Lateral Admission into MBA(D) in Sem 3
Diploma students other than Diploma in Business Management (July 2019 onwards) can apply for Lateral Admission into MBA(D) in Sem 2

*Note – Program fees of MBA (Distance) will be applicable.

Can a student enrolled in Certificate program apply for a lateral admission in MBA (Distance) program?

Students enrolled in Certificate in Business Management program only (July 2019 onwards) can get a lateral entry into Sem 2 of MBA (Distance).

Note – Program fees of MBA (Distance) will be applicable.

My program validity has ended, I am yet to clear subjects, can something be done?

Yes, you can apply for a program validity extension to clear any pending subjects within the stipulated deadlines defined by the University.

How can I extend my program validity?

You can extend the validity of your program by applying at https://ngasce.secure.force.com/ApplyForValidityExtension by paying 50% of the semester fee.

The validity extension of the respective programs is as below:

  • Certificate Programs – 6 months
  • Diploma Program – 6 months
  • MBA (Distance) Program – 1 year (only 6 months at a time)
  • MBA (Distance) Program (Lateral Admission) – 6 months

Note:

  • The fee for extension of validity of the program will be 50% of the Semester fee applicable for the program ( as per the fee structure applicable at the time of admission)
  • A student needs to apply for an extension of validity within 12 months of the expiry of the validity period.
  • An MBA (Distance) student can apply for further extension after the extended 6 months expires. The same will need to be done within 6 months of the expiry of the first extended validity period.
  • University does not offer any refund policy; fees, once paid towards the validity extension, will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Note:
– Fees for extension of validity of the program will be 50% of the Semester fees applicable for the program ( as per the fee structure applicable at the time of admission)
– Students need to apply for an extension of validity within 12 months of the expiry of the validity period. MBA (Distance) students applying for further extension after the expiry of the extended 6 months need to apply within 6 months of the expiry of the first extended validity period.
– University does not offer any refund policy; fees, once paid towards the extension of validity, will not be refunded under any circumstances.

What is the procedure to cancel my admission?

Admission cancellation is subject to the dates as announced by the University. Please refer to the website https://online.nmims.edu/admission-process/ > Select Program > Cancellation/Refund Policy

To cancel your admission, you will need to inform your University regional office to initiate your admission cancellation process. The University will send a refund form via e-mail which will need to be filled and submitted along with the specimen of your signature. This refund will be processed within 15 – 20 working days for payment after receipt of the completed refund form. The cancellation process must be initiated by a date provided by the University, which will be communicated at the time of admission.

Note: The Admission Processing Fee/Registration fee is non-refundable. No cancellation requests will be accepted after the last date of admission cancellation.

What is a Bonafide certificate ? How can I apply for a Bonafide certificate?

A Bonafide certificate is a document issued as proof that you belong to a particular educational institute or an organisation.

You can apply for a Bonafide certificate by logging in on the Student Portal > Student support > Service Request > Issuance of Bonafide.

Can I apply for an Exit Program? What is the process for the same?

Yes, you can apply for a program exit. To apply for a program exit, please submit an application on ngasce@nmims.edu and raise the service request from your Student Portal > Student Support > Service Request > Exit Program.

What is the exit policy for the MBA (Distance) program?

Any Student who has taken admission to the MBA (Distance) Program but wants to discontinue and exit can choose to exit as follows:

– A MBA (Distance) student can choose to discontinue the program on successful completion of all the courses of Semester I. Post approval from the University, the student will be awarded a Certificate in Business Management (CBM)

– A MBA (Distance) student can choose to discontinue the program on successfully completing all courses of Semester I and Semester II. The student will be awarded a Diploma in Business Management (DBM) after approval from the University.

Will I be refunded the program fee if I choose to exit a program?

Certificate/ Diploma/ Professional Diploma students will not be refunded any fee if they apply for discontinuation of the Program.

Only MBA (Distance) student who has paid the Full program fee (for all 4 semesters) at the time of admission and applies for Exit within 12 months will be eligible for a refund after the deduction of the Annual fee from the Program fee paid. Along with this, the Live lecture fee for Semesters 3 & 4 will also be refunded.

What is the exit policy for a Diploma student enrolled in any batch from July 2019 onwards?

Any student who has taken admission into a Diploma program (Enrolled post-July 2019)  but wants to discontinue can discontinue and exit the Program on successful completion of all the courses of Semester I. After approval from the University, the student will be awarded a Certificate in Business Management (CBM).

Can I apply for program withdrawal? What is the withdrawal process?

Yes, a student who wishes to discontinue a program (A student who is not eligible for exit) can apply for program withdrawal. The following is the process:

The student needs to raise a request for the same by writing to ngasce@nmims.edu and raising the service request from their Student Portal > Student Support > Service Request > Program withdrawal. Please note that no refund is applicable for program withdrawal.

Can a Non-Indian apply for executive programs from NGA-SCE?

Yes, a Non-Indian can apply for an NMIMS Global program. The candidate will need to provide an attested photocopy of his/her Passport as identity proof as an additional document. Admission to the applied program will be a prerogative of the University, and the University can demand additional documentation.

Is the program fee for Core and Dual Specialisation in MBA (WX) Program different?

No, the program fee for Core and Dual Specialisation is the same in the case of MBA (WX) by NMIMS Global Access.

What is the fee and instalment structure for defence personnel?

As per the University guidelines, a discount of 20% can be provided to defence personnel on the program fee. For a detailed understanding of the conditions and process applicable, please write to ngasce@nmims.edu

What happens if an MBA (WX) candidate is not able to pay program fee/block amount within the first 7 days/stipulated date?

If a candidate is unable to make the payment of the complete program fee within 1 month from the date of the offer letter, a late fee of INR 10000/- will be applicable. The candidate needs to make the complete payment, including the late fee on or before the last date of application for payment of the program fee.

I have missed the interview slot for MBA (Working Executive) program, what can I do?

You can request a new interview slot (If available) by raising a request to the University email id – ngasce@nmims.edu, one time – without any charges. You will have to pay INR 1000/- from the second time onwards to change the interview slot. The candidate cannot change the payment slot more than two times.

Is an exam fee charged for each subject in every term/ semester?

Yes, it is applicable for the following programs:
MBA (Distance), Diploma, Professional, Certificate, and Bachelor’s programs. An exam fee of INR. 600/- per subject per attempt is applicable.

MBA (WX): The default attempts exam fee is already included in the program fee for MBA (WX). In the case of re-attempts, an exam fee of INR 2500/- per subject is applicable.

MBA (X): The default attempts exam fee is already included in the program fee for MBA (WX). In the case of re-attempts, an exam fee of INR 2500/- per subject is applicable.

What is the admission process?

For: MBA (Distance), Diploma, Professional programs, Certificate programs, and Bachelors programs, follow the four-step process to complete the admission process:

Does NMIMS Global Access provide dual specialisation?

How can a student update their registered e-mail id, shipping address and mobile number?

A student can update their e-mail id, mobile number and/or shipping address from the Student Portal > My Profile section.

Does a student have to re-register after every Semester?

Professional Diploma and M.Sc in Applied Finance:

Student for these programs will have to re-register mandatorily every semester, in order to activate the semester access. This is a mandatory process even when annual or full fee is paid. Only post re-registration will they be able to access to the course material and lectures of the prospective semester. This will also enable them to register and appear for the examination of prospective semester.

MBA (WX) & MBA (X):

Student enrolled in MBA (WX) & MBA (X) do not have to re-register. They will automatically progress into the next term once they clear the previous term.

Will there be a convocation ceremony post completion of a program?

No, NMIMS Global does not conduct a convocation process.

Academics

What Academic help will I receive after registering for the program?

After registering for any program a student will receive semester-wise self learning material (if applicable), recordings of live sessions, course presentations, session presentations and any additional reading material as shared by faculty if any.

How are the programs delivered at NMIMS Global Access?

Our distance programs are delivered through live interactive lectures whose recordings are also made available.

What are the charges if the student wishes to attend live lectures for less than 6 subjects?

If the student wishes to opt for live lectures for 1 to 4 subjects individually, they will be charged Rs. 1200 per subject (1200 * Number of subjects)

Student has paid in full for (Program Fees + Live Lectures) for all Semesters. Can he change or opt out of some subjects?

The student cannot change or opt out of subjects once payment is made. No refund is applicable for payment towards lectures

How do I log into the Student Portal once I take admission?

You are required to login to your Student Portal with your SAP Id & Password provided by the University in the Welcome Email.

Getting Invalid Credentials error?

In case you are receiving the message of Invalid Credentials, you are entering either Student Number or Password or both incorrect. You are required to use the Forgot Password option to login to your Student Portal.

Once you use Forgot Password option the password will be sent to your registered email id with which you can login to Student Portal.

What are the features of online Digital Library?

Digital Library facilities are provided for students who are willing to learn beyond books and their registered subjects. Users can access full text journals online. The contents have been organised in groups for easy access. The search interface allows for easy navigation. Students can access our Digital Library 24/7. The Digital library provides an user-friendly interface to access its resources, such as journals, databases, eBooks database, research database, company databases etc.

Student has selected Live Lectures for 4 subjects but wants to subscribe to Live Lectures for an additional subject. Is there a provision?

Yes, The student can choose to add subjects for Live Lectures by paying the applicable charges (Rs. 1200* Number of subject/s)

Will a student be able to change the selection of Live subjects once Registration and Payment is done?

Students will be permitted to change the selection of the live subjects after registration but 7 days before the start of the lecture delivery of the first track / session
Students cannot change the selection of live subjects after lecture delivery start of the first track / session

Can a student reduce the number of Live subjects once selection is complete and payment is done?

No, Once the payment is made a student cannot reduce the number of subjects selected for Live + Recording mode

If a student has selected 1/2/3/4 live subjects in a Semester and made the payment for it, can he/she change the selected subjects?

If a student has selected 1/2/3/4 live subjects in a Semester and made the payment for it he /she will be permitted to change the selection of the live subjects after registration. This change can be done upto 7 days before the start of the lecture delivery of the first track

How are lectures conducted?

Lectures are conducted using the ZOOM platform. Each subject is taught via live interactive sessions, timings for the same are updated in the Academic Calendar.

Can a student add subjects (Live + Recorded mode) once selection is complete and payment is done?

Yes, student will be able to pay for more live subjects during the Semester at the price of Rs. 1,200 per subject irrespective of the number of live sessions which have already been conducted for that subject

How can I select the lecture / Session batch to be attended?

Every lecture is marked with a track making it easy for you to refer and download the session. There are colors to indicate different tracks making it easy for student to identify different tracks.
We recommend you to follow one track.

How are Sessions conducted for Semester 1 MBA (Distance) Program students?

For Sem 1
Lectures are conducted in 5 different tracks
Weekend Slow Track 1 – 2 sessions on every Saturday and Sunday in different slots
Weekday Slow Track 2 – 1 session every day – Monday to Friday ( Saturday if required) in the evening from 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm
Weekend Slow Track 3 – 1 Session on Friday , 2 sessions on every Saturday and Sunday in different slots
Weekend Fast Track 4 – 1 Session on Friday, 3 sessions on every Saturday and Sunday in different slot
All Week Track 5 – 1 session from Monday to Sunday

How are Sessions conducted for Semester 2 MBA (Distance) Program students?

For Sem 2
Lectures are conducted in 2 different tracks, Weekend and Weekday batch:

Attendance is highly recommended since it is a continuous learning and assessment approach as Internal Assessments are conducted post every lecture.

Are the books from study material provided available as physical copies?

This is not an error, kindly access the lectures 15 minutes before the lecture starts to avoid this message. You may book your seat for a particular faculty lecture 1 hour prior to the commencement of the lecture.

Where do I view my E-books/course presentations of the faculty?

The E-books/course presentations of the faculty will be available in the student portal. Follow this path to find the E-books/course presentations:

Are the soft copies of study material downloadable?

The study material cannot be downloaded on the web browser. However it can be downloaded on the Student Zone Mobile App.

How will I get my queries resolved when I’m watching the recording of the lectures?

Students have an option known as the “Post my query” under Student portal- Academic Calendar. Here they can ask their queries and the faculty will revert to them within 48 hours.

Can an MBA (WX) student re-attempt Harvard Modules if failed in the first attempt

No, students cannot re-attempt the Harvard Module.

How long will the MBA (WX) students have access to Harvard Modules?

The access to Harvard module will be active for 1 year. We advice that the students finish the modules as per the suggested Term mapped or earlier if possible.

Can a MBA (WX) student opt for specialisation change?

Student can opt for specialisation change at the time of re-registration into Term 3

1. Student can opt for change in specialisation/change in electives only once (without any charges).

2. Students wanting to opt for change in specialisation/change in electives for the second time will have to pay Rs. 5000/- for the change.

How does University recognise my academic acheivement ?

Student will be awarded Ranking and Badging for their performance throughout the academic journey with the University.

What is Badging?

What is Ranking ?

Students are awarded Semester wise ranking and subject wish ranking on the student portal.
There is one leaderboard for every semester of your program. The leaderboard will display the names and scores of the top 5 ranked students across all subjects in that semester. The leaderboard will also display where do you stand (your rank) among your fellow students in the same semester of your program.
Note: You will see your rank only if you have cleared all of your subjects in the very first attempt as per your semester registration month and year. The ranking will not be displayed for the students that pass a subject in backlog.

What is the evaluation pattern?

M.Sc in Applied Finance & Professional Diploma in Wealth Management

Each subject carries a weightage of 100 marks. Here’re its components:

  • Internal Assignment – 30 marks
  • Term End Examination (consisting of Multiple Choice Questions + Descriptive type questions) – 70 marks

Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing      Each semester has 3 papers & 1 project comprising of a total of 400 marks. Here’re its components:

  • Paper – Each paper carries a weightage of 100 marks, it is further bifurcated into:

(i) Term End Exam: Carries a weightage of 70 marks

(ii) Assignment: Carries a weightage of 30 marks

  • Project – Mimic Pro Simulation with a 100 marks weightage

MBA (WX):

In terms 1 to 4, for each subject:

  • Internal Assessment – carries 70% credence.
  • Term End Examination – carries 30% credence.

At each term end, if the passing criteria is not met, students will get a chance to take 100 marks exams for up to 2 subjects.

Term 5 is a Capstone project, that can be accessed through the Student Zone.

When are exams conducted?

M.Sc. In Applied Finance & Professional Diploma:

Internal Assignments – They’re assigned during the academic session and are supposed to be submitted on or before the last date announced by the University on the Student Zone.

Term End Exams – There are 4 exam cycles in a year – April, June, September and December. A student has to necessarily complete a study period of at least six months in the enrolled semester, to be eligible for the Term End Examination of the subjects of that semester.

MBA (WX):

For terms 1 to 4:

Internal Assessments – Each subject is covered in 10 lectures. However, there are a total of 9 assessments per subject. 1st assessment is based on the 1st lecture and is scheduled post the 2nd lecture .  This allows the student time to revise concepts & prepare for the assessment.

Term End Exams – Term end exams are conducted every 2 weeks (either Sunday or Saturday) post all lectures of a particular subject are completed.

Term 5 consists of the Capstone Project, and can be accessed on the Student Zone

MBA (X):

For terms 1 to 5: Every Subject will comprise of two grading components Internal Assignment or Project ( 40%) and Term End Exam (60%). Internal Assignment/Project and Term End Examination are mandatory components in nature. 

Internal Assignment: In each subject there would be a total of five assignments of 10 marks each. Among these five, best four are taken into consideration.

Project: Project will have a fixed subject-wise deadline as per timetable.

Term End Exam: Final Examination has individual cut-off component i.e. individual passing cut-off marks (40% of 60 marks = ‘24 marks’). 

To be declared as ‘Pass’ in each subject, student needs to submit the Internal Assignment/Project as well as necessarily appear for the Term End Examination.

Term 6 consists of the Capstone Project, and can be accessed on the Student Zone

MBA (Distance)

There are 4 exam cycles in a year – June, September, December and April.
The Main Examination for enrolled semester is held in June and December. eg:- For a student enrolled in Jan batch the first applicable exam will be in June. Similarly, for a student enrolled in July batch the first applicable exam will be in December.
April and September cycles are Re-sit exams(to clear any pending subjects from the previous Semesters)

What is the process of applying or registering for Term End & Re-sit Examinations?

M.Sc (Applied Finance) & Professional Diploma:

To apply for exams, students will have to register online when the window for exam registration opens, as per the University calendar. The exam registration is on first come first serve basis when the online registration window goes live (will be communicated via email/SMS/announcement section of Student Zone). Students must not wait till the last minute for exam registration as it could lead to unavailability of preferable exam time slot.

MBA (WX) :

The student will have to register online for appearing for the Term End Exam (30 marks). Students need to refer to our Student zone announcements for further details.

The student will have to register online for appearing for the Re-Exam (100 marks) as per the dates declared by the University by paying the applicable charges. Students need to refer to our Student zone announcements for further details.

Pls. Note: Re-exam is applicable for in each Term. Re-exam fee is Rs.2500/- per exam.

MBA (X):

There is no exam registration for the 60 marks Term End Exam. However, the student will have to register online for appearing for the Re-Exam (100 marks) when the window for exam registration opens (decided as per the University calendar) by paying the applicable Exam fee. Students need to refer to Student Zone announcements for further details.

Pls. Note: Re-exam is applicable for in each Term. Re-exam fee is Rs.2500/- per exam.

What happens if a student has registered but fails to appear for the Term End Examinations?

M.Sc. In Applied Finance & Professional Diploma :

In case a student has registered for the examination & is not able to appear for the same on the scheduled date, he/she will be marked “Absent”. 

Kindly note the exam registration fee cannot be refunded or adjusted with the next exam cycle.

MBA (WX)/MBA (X):

1. Student can choose to only appear for re-exam of 100 marks conducted at the end of every term by paying the applicable fees of Rs 2500 per subject.

2. Student will have to pay the applicable subject wise fees as decided by the University.

What is the passing criteria?

M.Sc. In Applied Finance & Professional Diploma

To be eligible for being declared as “Pass” in any subject, a student is required to obtain 50% marks on the aggregate of marks obtained in the Internal Assignment and Term End Examination taken together. Attempting both components is mandatory.

After the closure of the assignment submission due date, the assignments are sent to the faculty for evaluation. 

Note: Since the assignment evaluation is done online by the faculty there is no concept of sharing the checked photocopy of the assignment. However, the overall faculty remarks given after evaluation will be shared with the students when the assignment result is declared.

Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing also has a Mimic Pro Simulation Project in each term, it is available through the Student Zone. These real world simulations and evaluation is done basis the performance.

MBA (WX):

Assignments/Projects are not applicable for MBA (WX). Term 5 contains a Capstone Project & can be accessed through Student Zone. Please contact the University for more information.

MBA (X):

Course wise projects are sent to faculty for evaluation. The format of the same could be in word document, power point presentation, video presentation, etc. – as prescribed by the University.

Where can a student access assignment questions/project details?

M.Sc in Applied Finance & Professional Diploma

Assignment questions are uploaded within the Student Zone under ‘Assignment Module’. Note: For every exam cycle, a fresh set of assignment questions are uploaded. Students are expected to download the assignment paper and submit them after completion through the ‘Assignment Module’ on or before the last date announced by the University. Assignment submitted via email or a hard copy will not be accepted.

MBA (WX):

There are no assignments for MBA (WX). Term 5 is a Capstone Project, that can be accessed through the Student Zone. Please contact the University for more information.

Is there any assignment fee or project fee applicable?

M.Sc in Applied Finance & Professional Diploma

For each subject, no assignment submission fee is charged for the first two assignment submission exam attempts. However, from the third assignment submission exam attempt (applicable fee) will be charged per subject per attempt.

MBA (WX):

There are no assignments for MBA (WX).

Term 5 is a Capstone Project, that can be accessed through the Student Zone. There is no extra fee applicable for the same. In case of failure, re-term fee is applicable within the duration of program validity.

Is there any reference material that can be used for completing assignments or projects?

Students are free to refer to any books/reference material/website/internet for attempting their assignments but are not allowed to copy the matter verbatim from the source or reference. If matter is copied verbatim, such assignments will be under ‘copy case’. 

Assignment or Projects falling under copy case will be graded as “zero”. However, these students will be allowed to register and appear for the scheduled term end examinations.

What should a student do in case their assignment/project status shows “Not submitted” on the Student Zone, even though he/she had made the submission in the last examination cycle?

M.Sc in Applied Finance & Professional Diploma

There are two aspects why a student could see the “Not submitted” status for assignments, in the Student Zone:

  1. The assignment is not submitted for that particular subject
  2. The assignment is submitted in the last cycle but assignment results are not declared and current examination cycle assignments are released. Once results are declared and if a student has cleared the subject – the assignment will automatically disappear from the student’s dashboard. The student can check “Previous submissions” section to verify when have he/she has submitted the assignments.
Is submitting assignments or projects a prerequisite to register & appear for term end examinations?

M.Sc in Applied Finance & Professional Diploma in Wealth Management

No, assignment submission is no longer a pre-requisite to register and appear for the term end examinations. This policy is effective from December 2016 Exam Cycle onwards which will be applicable to all students. However, Assignment submission is a mandatory component along with term end.

Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing

No, assignment submission is no longer a pre-requisite to register and appear for the term end examinations. This policy is effective from December 2016 Exam Cycle onwards which will be applicable to all students. However, both Assignment submission & Mimic Pro Project are mandatory components of the program.

Does the passing certificate include student’s parents name as well?

What is the process to obtain physical copies of mark sheets and final certificate?

Students who want physical copies for mark sheets need to raise a service request through Student Zone: Student Zone -> Student Support -> Service Request -> Issuance of mark sheet/Final certificate. They can opt to get the same delivered to their shipping address or collect the same from university office. They will get a confirmation email once the documents are generated. Charges are applicable, wherever required.

What is the process of getting a transcript?

Student will have to raise a service request for a transcript. Three copies of the transcript will be issued for Rs. 1000/-. For every additional extra copy, there will be a charge of Rs. 300/-

Does the University send the transcripts to WES?

Yes, the University sends the transcripts to the World Education Services. In order to do so, students can email on ngasce@nmims.edu mentioning their complete requirement of documents needed to be sent along with the transcripts. They also need to confirm the address it needs to be sent to. Once the address is received, the University will then confirm the courier charge. After the completion of above mentioned steps, documents will be sent to WES.

How many times can student avail the option of re-exam and repeat subject?

What is a Resit Exam ?

Re-sit exams are conducted to allow students to clear any pending subjects from the previous Semesters. April and September exam cycles are referred to as Re-Sit Exams

How are Assignments / Projects evaluated?

Pls. Note: Since the evaluation is done online by the faculties there is no concept of sharing the checked photocopy . However, the overall faculty remarks given after evaluation will be shared with the students when the result is declared.

Assignments / Project that are copied ad-verbatim from any common source or reference and submitted will be scored ‘zero’ and marked as Copy Case

What happens if the Project is marked under Copy Case?

If matter is copied ad-verbatim from the reference source the Project will be marked under ‘Copy Case’.
Projects falling under copy case will be graded as “zero”. The students scoring a zero in Project will have to submit a new Project in the upcoming Exam cycle

What happens if a student clears all the 23 subjects but fails to submit Project?

Project is one of the mandatory subject of Semester – IV (Marks out of 100) for students enrolled in the MBA ( Distance ) program.
Non submission of Project / Failure in Project at the end of Program Validity will lead to non-completion of the enrolled Program.

What is the process of applying or registering for Term End examinations?

The student will have to register from Student Portal > Exams > Exam Registration to appear for the Term End Examination when the window for Exam Registration opens. The exam registration is on first come first serve basis.
Student will be communicated via Email/SMS/Announcement section once the Exam registration goes live.

Is the exam schedule flexible?

Exams have flexible schedule and are scheduled on weekends (Fri/Sat/Sun) and would be conducted in different time slots. The student is free to choose the Exam Day/Date/Time based on his/her preference and appear for the examination. There is no fixed date and subject examination timetable for exams.

How many subject exams can a student appear in a day?

A student has a choice to appear for one/two or maximum three subject exams in a day, subject to exam date/exam timeslot and availability.

Can I give Exams from abroad?

Our examination centres are in India only. The provision to appear for exams from outside India will only be available in case the exams are conducted online

What happens if a student has registered but fails to appear for the Term end examinations?

In case the student has registered for the examinations & is not able to appear or give the examinations on the scheduled date the student will be marked “Absent” for that Exam.

Kindly note the exam registration fee cannot be refunded or adjusted with the next exam cycle.

For e.g.: Student of June 2020 batch fails to appear for examination in December 2020 , he/she can appear for the examination in any of the upcoming examination cycle within the Program validity period.

The same is applicable for Internal Assignments too.

If the assignment is not submitted for that particular subject

If the Assignment is submitted, Last cycle assignment results are not declared and new examination cycle assignments are released
OR
Term End Exam for that subject is not cleared.

Any student found copying or adopting any malpractices at the time of the exam will be marked under Unfair Means (UFM).
Such students will be issued a Show Cause Notice

How is the Show Cause notice sent to the students?

When a student is marked for UFM, a show cause notice is uploaded on the Student Portal, an alert will be displayed on the Student portal dashboard guiding them to go to the UFM notice page along with a notification email. The student needs to click on the link to navigate to UFM dashboard. The student can submit the UFM show cause response/explanation in the open text given for response

Post Result declaration my status is showing “RIA”

RIA stands for Result Kept in Abeyance, the same will be displayed when students has been issued UFM notice and result for UFM are yet to be declared.

My subject scores is reflecting as NV ?

NV stands for Null and Void. The UFM committee will go through the explanations and declare the decision. Based on the UFM
committe decision if student clears the subject marks will be updated else if found gulity the status will change from RIA to NV.
Please Note: Subject marks as NV, students will have to re-appear for the particular subject by paying the examintion fees.

What is the Grace Policy?

A candidate failing in one or more subject/s in a semester is given up to 2 percent of the marks on the aggregate marks of that subject, in which he/she has appeared in the said examination to enable him/her to pass the subject. (2% of 100 = 2 marks only in each subject & not more than 2)

Will a student be eligible for Grace marks (more than 2 marks / subject) if the maximum period of studies of a candidate for a program comes to an end and he/she is left out with one or more subjects to clear the program ?

A candidate may be allotted not more than 12 marks (July 2014 Batch Onwards: New Course: Six subjects in each semester)

What is the ‘Student Support’ centre working hours?

The ‘Student Support’ centre is operational from Monday to Saturday from 9 AM till 7 PM.

How soon can I expect a response after raising my query?

Query will be responded to in 24- 48 hours. However some queries may take longer as it may involve intervention from different departments.

Is there any Whatsapp support group ?

No, there is no Whatsapp group created by the University.
It is the students discretion post joining any Whatsapp group and the University is not responsible for any communications on the group

Can I change the registered E-mail Id submitted at the time of admission?

If the student wants to update their email ID, they have to send an application to the University with the following supporting documents:

1) Address proof of the student’s address submitted to the University.

2) Copy of Government photo ID card

On verification of above documents, the e-mail id will be updated in University’s records & student will be able to login to the Student Zone successfully.

Can I make changes to Date of Birth after I take admission in Distance Learning?

Yes, you can change your date of birth after taking admission in our distance learning programs. You are required to apply for the change by raising a service request from Student Portal account and then upload your SSC Mark sheet or any other valid Proof of Birth.

How do I update my Email id, Shipping address and Mobile number post admision confirmation?

You can update your Email id, Shipping address and Mobile number from
Student Portal > My Profile > Contact Information

When can a student access the Alumni Portal ?

Alumni Portal can be accessed from Student Portal (Conditions apply)

What is the eligiblity for Alumni Portal ?

– MBA (Distance) students in IV semester who have cleared atleast 15 papers.

In 2018, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai (Deemed to be University) was granted Autonomy Category 1 by UGC (University Grants Commission), thereby giving us a blanket approval to offer programs through open & distance learning modes. How many credit points are allotted per subject?

The credits per subject are solely upto the discretion of the Institute/agencies (Within India or outside India) to acknowledge these scores as it would differ from State to State and Country to Country.

Individuals trying to seek admission/employment are recommended to check with the respective Institute / Country Immigration services. NMIMS programs are WES recognised and Yes, students who have passed out do apply for Transcripts and they are directly sent to WES. We haven’t until today received any complaint stating that credits offered by us are not honoured.

Is there placement support for NMIMS Global Access’s executive programs?

We do not offer placements for any of our programs

M.Sc in Applied Finance & Professional Diploma:

Students will have access to ALMA Connect Portal and Career Services – paid services (conditions apply)

MBA (WX) & MBA(X) :

Students will have access to ALMA Connect Portal only

Post completion of MBA (Distance) can I enroll or apply for PhD programs?

PhD admissions is a prerogative of the Institution to which you are seeking admission for PhD. Each Institution has their own rules. It is up to the institutions who are considering your admission to decide whether to consider this PG program or not. Many Institutions do consider this, some don’t. So you would need check with the institutes for the same.

Are the programs approved by AICTE?

Yes, the MBA (WX) & MBA (X) programs are approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) – the statutory body and a national-level council for technical education, under Department of Higher Education & Ministry of Human Resource Development of India.
